Understand The Noble Quran: Simplified

 Assalaamu alaykum Everyone

Alhamdu-lillah! I've finally succeeded to finish editing and uploading the 1st two episodes (parts) of the Understand Al-Quran: Simplified! Video Podcasts.  These Video Lessons, which were originally recorded way back in 2008 and presented over the airwaves of Radio 786 (in Cape Town, South Africa), have been remastered by me (Idrees Kamish) after applying some new edits.

I am positive that these Video Podcast Lessons, will once again be welcomed by all those who want to understand Al-Quran and are looking for a simplified method of explanation and presentation.  Off course, they are essentially Audio Podcast that have been remastered to Video Presentations.

To view Part One, please click HERE.

I have added some colourful visuals to stimulate the viewer and enhance the learning process.  I shall also upload these lessons as YouTube Podcasts soon, and make them available via other podcasting platforms (Such as Spotify, etc.) soon, bi-ithni-llah!

The subtitles that are currently available are automatically generated - so there are still some Arabic words that are not adequately presented via the YouTube AI generator, but I'll fix those soon, In-Sha-Allah!

To view Part Two, please click HERE.

Enjoy listening and viewing these podcasts and remember the supporting notes and additional materials will appear via this blog soon!  Some notes are already available via the Madrasah At-Tayyibah blog.  You are most welcome to pop over and make use of those resources.

I trust you'll have an amazing journey, discovering the treasures within the words and ayaat and understanding the Arabic Quran.

PS:  Remember those of you who might not be fluent with your Arabic Reading, are welcome to visit my Read Arabic in a Matter of Minutes Playlist on YouTube.

Have Fun Learning Arabic with Short Animated Videos

 Assalaamu Alaykum Everyone

Ahlan wa Sahlan! Hello & Welcome!

Please join us and Have Fun Learning Arabic with Short Animated Videos

I've finally completed the first Short Animated Video Lesson, which covers the initial dialogue of one of the episodes from the Series Mughaamaraat Mushaakis (مُغَامرات مشاكس): The adventures of Mushaakis.  This short (10 minute) Video Lesson (Everyone Needs Exercise) covers part of the dialogue from the original episode (mentioned above) with the Arabic Text and the English Text provided, as well as Transliterated Text provided in Large Format in Speech Bubbles - which will assist the Non-Arabic Speaker in understanding the text and the Arabic Audio.  I've also added some audio comments in English, which include the English Translation of the Arabic Audio.

Here is a link to the first Video Lesson:  Everyone Needs Exercise, which will be live from tomorrow morning (Sunday 27/10/2024) at 06.00 (Time zone: GMT+2)

The idea is to provide further support on this blog/ site, in the form of Grammatical or Structural explanations, so that the learner or viewer can understand the Arabic Audio better and simultaneously learn the Structure of the Arabic Language.

These Video Lessons are suitable for all ages.  In fact it would be ideal if adults or teenagers watch it with the young children at home.

This episode opens with Mushaakis, the monkey walking through the forest. He hears Arnuub, the rabbit counting from one to four...

He then wonders: "Isn't that the voice of Arnuub?" (أليس هذا صوت أرنوب؟):

"What is he doing there?"  (ما الذي يفعله هنا؟):

It has been proven that most people learn a new language faster when they get the opportunity to observe the language being spoken and they know some of the words being used.  This is called comprehensible input.  One learns faster when you absorb small amounts of comprehensible chunks of the language as spoken by native speakers or non-natives who are fluent.  Ideally the learner should find himself in the place where the language is spoken, however for the absolute beginner, who knows very little to nothing of the new/ foreign language this is usually too overwhelming.  So, in my opinion, the Beginner Learner should start learning the language either via his mother tongue or via the target language - with all the support he needs.  A combination of both is probably the best.  Of course nowadays with some very effective apps and AI support, it is quite possible for the beginner to acquire a new language on his own - provided he has the proper approach (which incorporates an effective  methodology of learning and teaching a new language).  This methodology is sadly lacking in many of the apps available.  One also often finds Mother-tongue speakers sharing vocabulary, phrases or sentences on YouTube, without a good, effective teaching methodology.

I believe that one can start learning the new language (in this case Arabic) with any type of input: Be it a formal classroom, listening to someone at the market, hearing a song or qasidah (Arabic/ Islamic Poem), etc. - as long as you understand at least 60-80% of what is being communicated.  Of course the more you understand, the better.  This is especially of crucial importance if you want to respond to the input you've received.  So, the problem is where do you start if you know nothing or very little?  Following a series of this nature, with the proposed support, should most definitely assist you in learning and understanding the Arabic Language.  Why not give it a go?

For a visual breakdown with short explanatory notes, please go to the Have Fun Learning Arabic PAGE.

I trust you'll find this approach works for you.

Back to Video Productions!

 Assalaamu Alaykum Everyone!

Yes, Al-hamdu-lillah, we're back with our Video Productions after a brief bout of flu, which kept me from being productive to a large extent over the past month.

So, I'm back and I hope to complete both the Enjoy Arabic Series and the Read Arabic in a Matter of (3-5) Minutes as soon as I possibly can.  However as I previously mentioned, Video Editing takes a lot of time.  Many professional YouTubers can only manage to complete two to four short videos per month, unless they have a team of video and audio editing experts assisting them, or unless they make extensive use of AI editing programmes.

So, Al-hamdu-lillah, I've completed the Enjoy Arabic, Book One Lesson Five in two parts.  Here are the links:

Part OneImprove your basic Arabic Reading and Writing Skills (EAM L5 Part1)

Part TwoFirst Short Arabic Dialogue & Letter Recognition (EAM L5 Part2)

What is quite exiting is the fact that the first short dialogue is covered in this lesson.  But, those of you who have been following the Video Lessons, will know that we've actually given many other sentence structures, including some information regarding verb use in the previous lessons.  So, I might do a summary of all the sentence structures covered thus far so that you can get a gist of the impact of these few lessons.

Hopefully the production of other lessons will go much quicker, since as I mentioned before, I intend to skip some parts in order to concentrate more on the vocabulary and sentence structures in future.  This will facilitate the understanding of the Arabic grammatical structures greatly, which in turn will aid communication with enhanced comprehension.

Latest Developments

 Assalaamu Alaykum Everyone!

I just thought I'd keep you updated regarding the latest developments on this blog/ site.

Firstly, I am still busy with the Read Arabic in a Matter of Minutes Series.  You are probably aware that thus far 17 videos have been uploaded to our YouTube Channel in this playlist.  The aim is to upload at least one or two video lessons per week.  So, this week (probably today) the next video lesson will be uploaded in this series!  To view the Playlist, please visit: Read Arabic in a Matter of (3-5) Minutes

Secondly my aim is to complete the Enjoy Arabic Book One Videos as soon as possible, but those of you who are involved in video editing will know: it takes a lot of time!  So, please be patient!  Thus far there are 17 videos in this playlist as well.

Thirdly, I'm in the process of remastering the Speak Arabic Today Videos.  For those who don't know, I've prepared Six Lessons in this Series, which are available via the Speak Arabic Today blog.  Remember each of these lessons are divided in 5 parts, containing 20 words/ phrases/ sentences (totalling 100) each!  Thus far, I've made the first three of these lessons available via this blog in pdf format.  The process of remastering the Video Lessons is still ongoing.  Thus far parts One & Two of Lesson One are available.  You can go there via the PAGES, or click HERE.

In total there are currently 55 Video Lessons available via our At-Tayyibah School of Arabic Channel

Those of you (in Cape Town) who are eagerly awaiting physical classes, I'm hoping to start one soon, but I haven't finalized a venue yet.  Please make dua!

Shukran for your support!

Idrees

New Read Arabic Programme!

Assalaamu Alaykum Everyone!

A little over a month ago we launched a New Programme: Read Arabic in a Matter of (3-5) Minutes!

Al-hamdu-lillah, thus far 15 of these short 3-5 minute Video Lessons are available via Our YouTube Channel: At-Tayyibah School of Arabic

These lessons are primarily for those who want to learn to Read Arabic in general, as well as those who want to Read Al-Quran.  The big difference to the many other Read Arabic Programmes available is that most other programmes tend to teach the reading of all the letters of the Arabic Alphabet first, then they introduce Tajwid.  Most of these programmes do not attempt to teach the Arabic Language though, so they do not give translations of the words, nor do they give sentences.  On the other hand most the programmes and apps that do attempt to teach Arabic as a language, do not bother to teach the alphabet (or they do not do so in a systematic manner).

These programmes mentioned above are fine for specific learners who only want to learn those specific skills, we however discovered that there are many people who cannot seem to learn much from them, therefore they still cannot read the Arabic Script or they read Al-Quran fluently (some with beautiful Tajwid), but they do not have much understanding of the Arabic Language.

Our Read Arabic in a Matter of (3-5) Minutes Programme differs from these in a number of respects:

1.  Letters are introduced 1 or 2 at a time.

2.  These letters are then used in meaningful words.

3.  These words are immediately used in a variety of short sentences in Arabic.

4.  The English Translations of all the words and sentences are given as they are introduced.

5.  Although the Programme is not a dedicated Arabic Language programme and therefore does not introduce aspects of the Arabic Grammar, it does give the follower (student) a number of key aspects of the construction of the Arabic Language.  So the follower of these Video Lessons will directly learn to Read the Arabic Letters and Words, as well as a number of Arabic Sentences, and indirectly they will also get to understand a number of aspects related to the construction of the Arabic Language, which will benefit them in understanding Conversational Arabic, as well as Al-Quran (which is in fact a huge compilation of conversations and stories from Our Creator, Allah Almighty) .

So, the bottom line is:  These Video Lessons are primarily for those who want to learn to Read Arabic and Al-Quran, but they will also understand what they read, In-Sha-Allah!

To view the 1st Session of Lesson One, click here: 001AiM

To view the entire playlist, click Read Arabic in a Matter of (3-5) Minutes.

Shukran.

New 2024 Read & Write Arabic Names

 Assalaamu Alaykum

This new programme (Read & Write Names in Arabic) will teach the Beginner Student (who cannot read the Arabic Script) how to Read & Write Names in Arabic, In-Sha-Allah!

Each Lesson Introduces a few names written in English (Roman Script) first.  The student is then shown how to start writing these names in Arabic.  Initially the focus is on one or a few letters and sounds for the sake of students who might find it difficult to learn the whole name in one go.  As the lessons progress, the previous letters and sounds will be added, so that the learner can eventually (after about 20 or more lessons) write all the names introduced.  Since the names will be mostly Arabic names, the same skills learnt to read and write these names, will then automatically assist the learner to read anything else in Arabic, In-Sha-Allah!

Students who can already read the Arabic script will also benefit by these Video Lessons, since the Arabic word patterns (أوزان) will also be dealt with to a certain extent.  These word patterns will assist the learner in understanding the words better and also help him/ her to figure out meanings of new words!

The Lessons are all in Video format, so that the learner can see and follow the writing process, which will also assist the reading skill.  These lessons will be available on our YouTube channel and links will be provided to students via this blog/ website.  The students who wish to join the WhatsApp Group:  Enjoy Arabic More (see below), will receive the links and additional info via WhatsApp.
