New Arabic Short Courses available before Ramadhan 2026

 Assalaamu Alaykum Everyone

We shall be offering a number of courses during this year (2026), In-Sha-Allah.

Before Ramadhan 1447, (which coincides with 19 Feb - 20 March 2026), we shall offer 1 course & 2 info sessions:

1.  The 4-week Course: Read & Write Arabic will be presented at Masjidul Quds (Gatesville, Cape Town)

      on Tuesday Evenings between 7 and 9 pm, from 27 Jan. - 17 Feb. 2026.

      After Ramadhan the Understand Al-Quran Course will be presented during this time slot.

2.  The 2 Information Sessions:  Learn How to Understand & Speak Arabic Successfully - will take place 

      on Thursday mornings between 9 and 11 am at the DMA Hall in Surrey Estate, 

      on 5 & 12 Feb. 2026.

      After Ramadhan the Understand & Speak Arabic Course will be offered in this slot.

UNDERSTAND The Holy Quran Classes offered in Gatesville, Cape Town in 2026

 Assalaamu Alaykum

We shall be offering the Understand Al-Quran Course after Ramadhaan this year, from 24 March - 24 November 2026 at the Masjidul Quds Mosque in Gatesville.

This course will be offered on Tuesday evenings between 7 - 9 pm, In-Sha-Allah!  Although 2 hours are allocated, the class time will most probably be around 1 hour and 30 minutes, since we shall obviously have one or two breaks during the times of Maghrib & Ishaa' salaah.

(We've decided to offer this course over 4 weeks (instead of the 10 weeks, previously advertised during 2025 - The reason for this is:  Students will have the opportunity to take the Understand Al-Quran Course after this, during which the rest of the skills will be developed)

THE COURSE WILL COVER THE FOLLOWING:

1.       Reading & Writing all the letters of the Arabic Alphabet in their different forms;

2.       Reading & Writing 100s of words and phrases found in Al-Qurãn (with understanding);

3.       Understanding the Makhãrij (Place of Articulation) of all letters;

4.       Reading with proper Tajwĩd;

5.       Reading & Writing Simple Arabic Sentences (with understanding).

THE COURSE IS AIMED AT ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS, IE. PEOPLE WHO:

1.       Cannot Read the Arabic Alphabet;

2.       Cannot Read Arabic Words;

3.       Can Read, but cannot Write Arabic;

4.       Cannot Read Al- Qurãn with Tajwĩd;

5.       Cannot identify the different words in Al- Qurãn;

6.       Do not understand Arabic at all.

 The following courses will be presented during this year 2026:

1.  Read & Write Arabic - This 4-week FREE course is aimed at students who cannot read or write anything in Arabic.  The student will learn to Read, Write & Understand words & Sentences in Arabic.

2.  Learn How to Understand & Speak ARABIC Successfully -  This short course consists of two 2h information Sessions;

      During the above FREE information Sessions the following will be covered:

      1. How to effectively Learn to Speak Arabic with Understanding.

      2. How to learn Arabic at any age, even 85 years.

      3. Why many people can’t speak Arabic, even after years of study.

      4. The importance of Listening to Comprehensible Arabic. 

      5. The Importance of Reading & Writing the Arabic Script.

      6. How to ensure that you’re not wasting your time when learning.

3.  Understand The Noble Quran - This 8-month course is aimed at Beginners who can read the Arabic Script.  He/ She will be empowered to Read a large number of Ayaat in Al-Quran with Tajwid and Understand them.

4.  Understand & Speak Arabic Successfully - This 8-month course will empower new Beginner Students with all the skills needed to Speak and Understand Conversational Arabic using Animated Stories & Videos.

New Arabic Courses in Cape Town

 Assalaamu Alaykum Everyone

Alhamdu-li-laah!  Yes, we have finally secured a suitable venue (The DMA Centre at 83 Jupiter Road, Surrey Estate, Athlone, Cape Town) and will therefore present the following new courses on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 09:30 to 12:00.  These courses will run from Tuesday 23 September to Thursday 27 November 2025.

So, you are most welcome to join us during this 10-week journey, which will most definitely serve as your key towards further studies in Arabic and Understanding the Noble Quran.

There will be two sessions every Tuesday & Thursday Morning:  One for the Read & Write Arabic with Understanding Course and one for the Understand Al-Quran Course.  Each course will be done over two one-hour sessions per week, with a short break in between (40 hours in total in class). Students are encouraged to take both courses for maximum benefit.

1.  Read & Write Arabic with Understanding:

The Absolute Beginner Student (i.e. who does not know how to read a single Arabic letter or word) will be guided towards Reading & Writing hundreds of words & sentences in Arabic.  The student will also simultaneously learn the meanings of these words, as well as a few Arabic sentence structures, which will help him/ her to understand what they are reading.  As far as possible students/ learners will receive individual attention when reading to the facilitator/s.  

We will also cater for the various abilities of different students.  So, those who can read a little or fluently will equally benefit, like the ones who cannot read at all or who can only recognize some letters of the Arabic Alphabet.  Students who are fully or partially Haafidh ul-Quran (Memorizers of the Holy Qur'an) will also benefit by learning the meanings of the words & sentences as well as some Grammatical/ Sentence Structures. 

2.  The Understand the Noble Qur'an Course:

During this course students will study the text:  A Simplified Method Towards Understanding The Noble Qur'an: Book One.  This first book is designed for beginner students who can at least recognize the Arabic alphabet.  These students will be guided to Read, Write & Understand a number of Quranic words and Structures, which will lead them towards understanding a number of Ayaat ul-Quran, as well as enable them to read & Understand a few short Surahs of the Holy Qur'an.  This course will also assist students to read other Arabic texts.

Ustaadh Idrees Kamish (who is a qualified educator with more than 35 years teaching experience and has a Master's Degree in Arabic & Islamic Studies) is the main course facilitator.  He is also the author of both books which will be used for the courses mentioned above.

To assist students to master the skills and vocabulary, students will receive the lesson notes as well as additional Audio or Video Revision Lessons via WhatsApp and the Enjoy Arabic More Blog per week.  Students will receive ample practice exercises in class, as well as for homework to ensure that they master the vocabulary and sentence structures.  Students will also be introduced to additional methods to help them memorize the contents of both courses.

Proposed Fees:

1.  Registration Fees:     2 x R50;

2.  Monthly Donation:   2 x R100 per month, per course.

TOTAL FEES:  R500 per person.

DISCOUNTS:  Students who cannot afford the above fees, can apply for a discount.

The printed books of the courses will be available for sale to students who wish to buy them.
